Drawing, painting and photography has fascinated Parviz throughout his life. The first initiation to draw and paint more frequently came true in 1988 when he attended art classes of Ideen Aghdashloo, the well known Persian painter skilled in all media. After finishing basic skills in drawing and colored pencil with him, Parviz explored and practiced watercolor, his treasured medium, by himself for few years. In the meantime, searching for a a favorite and competent master, he was introduced to Mr. M. R. Atashzad, the pioneer in transparent watercolor , specially wet in wet technique. The paintings of him thrilled and exited Parviz so much that he practiced with him for several years. He showed Parviz the fluidity and transparency of watercolor which is distinctive from oil paintings and other media. Parviz has been attracted to sketching and drawing with pen and ink, pastel and watercolor from live models  in recent years. Living in Canada for few years gave him the chance to take courses in live drawing classes . Drawing from nude models inspired him to discover the gestures and forms of human bodies closely. Recently, setting up a cob studio in his residential garden outside Tehran has given him the chance to collect his works in one location and paint more frequently on weekends.
